Bills, Bills, Bills

Seriously, life in general is robbing me of my money. I work to pay my bills, keep paying my telephone bills, paying my automo'bills...Thank you Destiny's Child.

Wedding season is approaching and I'm already dredding it. I am breakin' my bank for other people's weddings, and I'm not even engaged yet! I even had to pull out of being in a wedding because I'm that broke. But really, all my money is going to bills, loans, groceries and gas...I don't even get to enjoy the fruits of my labor...That's right, I said it...fruits of my labor!

Yesterday, I got mugged by life. I had to go to the doctor for a neck injury from my adventures in McCall, Idaho...shelled out some mulah for x-rays and pain killers, but it was totally worth it...Pain killers do wonders.

Then, in the same day, I finally went to the eye doctor because I can no longer see...I couldn't even see the Big "E" on the chart, although I knew that the big blur I was seeing was the "E." Thought I had vision coverage, but I don't...shelled out $130 for an eye exam that took 2.5 hours...That's right, 2.5 hours AND I had an appointment...The doctor didn't even give me a script either! I have to go back in 2 weeks to get the script!! RIP OFF! I better not have to pay money just to come in and pick up a script or else, I will bust a cap...no joke.

The day ended with a bill from the IRS telling me that my taxes were filed wrong, and I owe $120. What a kick in the pants! Uncle Sam hates me, and you know what, I'm not too fond of him either.

Sometimes I wish we still had a bartering system in effect...why did we ever give that up!?

Vanilla Chai Pits

One more thought...my mom bought me Vanilla Chai scented Deoderant...

My armpits are making me hungry...weird.

Fact: Bears eat chimichangas

Ok, so bears don't really eat chimichangas...they actually eat beets. But if anybody is as obsessed with "The Office" then you know what I'm talking about.

So here's the real story with chimichangas...I work at a Mexican Restaurant (side job) because I love Mexican food, but really just chips and salsa...and your occasional chimichanga. Well, things have been going really smooth for me lately...until yesterday.

I was working in the bar section. I had 6 tables! But when you are working in the bar on a Wednesday night you probably won't get much business...or so I thought!

Here is the sequence of events that followed:

5:29 - Arrived at work
5:30 - Received table of 14 people
5:45 - Received table of 2 people
5:50 - Dropped tray of glasses, chips and salsa
5:55 - 4 other tables sat down
6:00 - Slipped back in the kitchen and fell on my butt while dropping a tray of glasses...again.
6:05 - 8:00 - Mayhem...don't really recall much of what happened between those 2 hours
8:30 - Table of 14 people leave
8:35 - No tables; Restaurant closing in 25 minutes
8:40 - Received 4 tables all at once
8:41 - More mayhem
10:30 - Finally left the restaurant only to go home, eat a Weight Watchers meal and pass out

I left work with a bruised butt, loss of dignitiy, wet clothes and a few more wrinkles on my face.

Moral of the Story: God thought I was running out of material...thanks God. Love you too:)

Singin' in the Rain

I love rainy days. It makes me want to go splash around with galoshes and an umbrella and pull a Gene Kelly. "Do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do, do...I'm Singin' in the Rain, just singin' in the rain..."

My favorite things about Rainy Days:
1. Umbrellas
2. Galoshes
3. Taking naps while the rain taps your window
4. Cloudy/gloomy skies
5. The sound of thunder & lightning
6. Feeling like a kid again
7. Splashing (or tapping dancin) in puddles
8. The coolness of rain drops on your skin
9. Nothin better than movie marathons or matinees on a rainy day
10. April showers bring May flowers!!!

"What a glorious feelin', I'm happy again! I'm laughin' at clouds so dark up above. The sun's in my heart and I'm ready for love!" What great, happy lyrics...Thanks Gene Kelly:)

Deep Thoughts by Me

I watched "Evan Almighty" this weekend with Steve Carell and Morgan Freeman, and there was one scene in the movie that really struck me. It is the very last scene where God (Morgan Freeman) shows himself to Evan Baxter (Steve Carell), and Evan is just in awe of God's plan for his life and how He had Evan's best interest at heart the whole time of Evan's struggle. You can seriously see the love and respect for one another in each other's eyes, and then God says to Evan, "Evan it's time...to do the dance," which is simply a victory dance that Evan does whenever he has overcome or achieved something of great importance. God joins in on Evan's victory dance, and then He stands back and just laughs with complete joy over Evan.

Here is my deep thought, God is always with us and experiences everything we experience. He delights in our joys and triumphs, laughs when we laugh, cries when cry, etc. How much more does that make me want to please God and make him laugh!!!

I told Blake about this thought and his response was "What if God really liked Morgan Freeman's portrayal of him in Evan Almighty, and decides to come back as Morgan Freeman!"

And ya know what, I would be completely cool with that...I really like Morgan Freeman:)

A Cat named Pippi Longstockings

I was thinking about past calamities in my life, and I just had to write about my most favorite calamity. Everyone has that one childhood story that just makes them laugh or ask themselves "What was I thinking?" Well I've got one for the books!

It was a hot summer day...HA! I've always wanted to start a story off like that. But seriously, I was a hot summer day, and I had received two things that summer that are very important to a girl the age of 5 years old - a bike with a basket and training wheels and a cat, who I named Pippi...Pippi Longstockings to be exact.

I thought I would take Pippi for a ride in my new basket, but the dang cat just kept jumping out of the basket. I was riding my bike in the street, which I wasn't suppose to do, and I was afraid that Pippi might get ran over because she would jump out of the basket and then follow me around. So, I had this great idea to put Pippi in the mailbox (along with my black Lone Ranger mask) while I rode my bike, and then, I would take him out when I was done riding my new bike.

I forgot about Pippi, and that cat had to have been in there for a few good hours.

Note: The mailbox was the old fashion metal mailbox, which couldn't have been fun to be kept in on a hot summer day.

Fortunately for Pippi, the mailman came and unknowingly released the poor cat from confinement. Unfortunately for the mailbox, my black Lone Ranger mask and the mailman, the cat had covered the inside of the mailbox, my mask and itself with poo. My diagnosis is that Pippi was claustrophic and suffering from a heat stroke. When Pippi hysterically jumped out of the mailbox and into the mailman's arms, the mailman was covered with poo as well. Needless to say, he wasn't happy and he let my parents know it.

Just when you thought it couldn't get any worse...it does. My parents came to me and asked how Pippi got in the mailbox. Fearing severe punishment, I blamed the unfortunate incident on my friend, Alex...who just so happened to be 3 years old...and had Cerebral Palsy...yes, I know. I'm a horrible person. And the sad part is that I just admitted to it about 6 years ago! Alex has forgiven me and we are still good friends:) As for Pippi, he is in heaven, but not by my doing.

Rest In Peace Pippi!

*Editor's Note

My boyfriend, Blake, reads my blog and was bothered that he wasn't listed as one of my favorite things...so here is one more addition to my list.

Favorite Boyfriend

Funny Story to this picture, which really sums up our relationship...Me making a fool of myself and Blake laughing at my expense.

This picture was taken at San Marcos Square in Venice, Italy...great place and I highly recommend visiting before you die. Well, you can buy bird seed and feed the birds, and Blake thought that was a great idea. So I was taking pictures of him feeding the birds, when he got another great idea to throw bird seed on me...not cool when you have curly hair and a thick scarf. The bird seed got lost in my hair and scarf causing the birds to pick at my hair, and thus get caught in my hair. One bird just gave up and decided to sit on my head. I had scratches on my hands and I was freaking out! Definitely a great, fun calamity!

I love you Blake!

Thanks for all the memories, for making me a better person, for helping me to laugh at myself, and for always being a day brightener!!!

When the dog bites, when the bee stings...

I saw Julie Andrews on Good Morning America yesterday, and it made me want to bust out in song. Since some not so wonderful things have been occuring in my life lately, I thought I'd pull a Fraulein Maria and focus on a few of my favorite things at the current moment.

Helloooo Spring!

After being sick for a whole week and playing in 8 ft. of snow, I am desperately seeking spring/summer. I love you winter, but it's time for you to peace out!

I am determined this season to try and wear dresses at least once a week. I easily fall susceptible to tank tops, jeans and flip flops. NOT THIS SEASON!!!

Here are a few dresses that are on my wish list:

*These dresses are all from Anthropologie...I'm a little obsessed with this store...although I can't really afford it:)

So, that is my plan. Also, if you know me at all, you will realize that I'm also trying to bring color to my wardrobe. I just love neutrals, BUT I am attempting to try something new...like Yellow:)
