Say hello to my little friend

{pinterest}

As soon as I decorated our house for Halloween this past weekend, lo and behold, nature adds its own little touch of decor to our home - spiders. So far 2, but really only 1 now. I accidentally killed the first one. The Hubs took some photos of it before I accidentally killed it, though. So that's nice. And I know what you are thinking. "Why didn't he kill it?" Because he is scared of spiders. And "How did you accidentally kill it? Why didn't you intentionally kill it?" Because I'm a schmuck for spiders. I've always loved Charlotte's Web, and I just can't help myself. Seriously.

So yesterday, I found the second spider. I named him Boo. He was shy and scurried away once I found him. He did let me examine him a bit, and I spoke baby talk to him. But then he hid on the mantle with the fake spiders. I think he's confused. Oh well. He's my friend, and I'm thankful for all the other little buggies he will kill in my home.

I wonder if I'll start seeing some witches if I start decorating with them in our home...EEK! I love Halloween :)

Prepare yourself for an uber random post.
HELLO! Last week was an interesting week. In addition to struggling with back pain from too many spills, I was diagnosed with shingles. oh joy. I have little painful red bumps in patches on my left leg that shoot pain up and down my leg. The hubs keeps reminding me that I basically have herpes on my leg. Thank you for that, love.

I ended up missing 3 days of work last week due to the nerve and back pain, so I did a lot of sleeping, yoga and watching "Keeping up with the Kardashians." By the way, I wasn't a fan of Khourtney at first, but she is beginning to grow on me. I've also been watching "The Bachelor." The hubs has been watching it with me too. We both think Brad Womack is such a wonk. Yes, the hubs has opinions about "The Bachelor." He actually gets really into it, although if you asked him, he wouldn't admit it. He really like Emily, the "tragic mother." While watching this weeks episode he said (and I quote), "Aww, she is just too sweet. I hope he picks her." No lie. He secretly LOVES the show.

Back to the matter at hand...I got bored really quickly last week. Actually, I don't know if it was boredom or my pain pills, but I got antsy. So I decided to paint.

I was extremely proud of this painting until I realized that the quote that I thought I got from "The Godfather" was incorrect. Instead of "swim" it should be "sleep." Oops. Its the pain medicine. It makes me forgetful and say stupid things. Oh well. I like it.

Happy Hump Day!

For the love of crafts

After 5 days of hot glue guns, glitter and paint, I have 5 blisters on my fingers. That's a blister a day folks. And it's all because I had an itch to craft. I can proudly say it was worth it. Now, I just hope the hubs likes it. I'm gonna go with a no, but I can cheerfully expect a pat and kiss on the head, and a smile that lets me know, "Yes, you are crazy." Oh well, enjoy the fruits of my labor :)

I love glitter in large doses.
Nothin' a little paint, scrap paper and modge podge can't fix!

Our Thankful Garland
Each day, we write on a leaf what we are thankful for. The hubs will be partaking in this activity...oh yes, and he will enjoy it :) Love you Hubs!

And just a cute photo of the Hubs and I on our honeymoon...Oh how I miss my Hawaiian tan!
